To strengthen the electronic retail payment network and protect the public against payment card fraud, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has issued BSP Circular 859, which requires all Banks to stop non-EMV cards and to replace all debit and credit cards with EMV chip –enabled cards.
In compliance with this circular, COOPBANK is now replacing all non-EMV Debit ATM cards.
Replacement Guidelines of ATM Cards to EMV Chip-Enabled Debit Card
A. Replacement of Debit/ATM Cards by Cardholders
1. Cardholder must visit to Coopbank( HO/ Branches) to have the card replaced with EMV card.
2. Cardholder will need to present a valid ID government issued ID and provide account number( bring old ATM card).
